The practice of Minimal Intervention seeks to prevent and detect oral disease at the earliest stage in order to avoid invasive treatment; and where surgical intervention is indicated, the least invasive restorative techniques is utilized. This lecture will aim to provide an integrated understanding of the practice philosophy and introduce new clinical techniques such as Surface Protection and Internal Remineralization. The principles and materials required to succeed in practicing minimal intervention dentistry in modern dentistry will be covered.
