Ultrasonics Workshop W12
Friday, June 13
8:00 AM-11:00 AM
ASSISTING / CE CREDITS 3
AUDIENCE: D H
Although the ultrasonic instrument was originally introduced as a device for removing gross supragingival calculus of tooth surfaces, it is only in the past five years that it has gained popularity as a credible approach to managing subgingival periodontal disease. Incorporating power driven instrumentation into the periodontal component of the practice provides a time effective adjunct to definitive root planning and the deplaquing process of the periodic supportive maintenance. This workshop will acquaint the dental therapist with the versatility of using ultrasonic instrumentation in periodontal root planning and supportive maintenance procedures. The course format will consist of seminars, demonstrations, and participant “hands on” activity with equipment utilization on models.
