The Florida Dental Association is committed to helping students of the dental profession, from pre-admission to recent graduates. For those who are just beginning to explore the profession, we provide helpful information regarding career occupations, educational requirements and resources.
The Atkins Mentor Program
If you feel you could benefit from the perspective of an established practitioner or have questions or concerns about dentistry, the Dr. Louis J. Atkins Mentor Program offers students the opportunity to participate in mentoring relationships with FDA members who have volunteered to serve as mentors.
Our member area provides some helpful insights into the dental profession. You do not have to be a licensed dentist to join the FDA. We invite students and recent graduates to become a member of organized dentistry, and be better prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.

Private Student Loans
We understand that paying for college can be difficult and that you may need additional funding to help fill the gap between financial aid and the cost of college. Student Loan Consolidation
To alleviate the burden of student loans, the FDA has partnered with SunTrust Bank to provide student loan consolidation incentives. SunTrust student loan consolidation programs may reduce a borrower's debt-to-income ratio by lowering monthly payments, which can help them qualify for larger purchases such as a home or car.
Federal student loans may be locked in at a fixed interest rate. Recent graduates may qualify for a grace period discount. In addition, FDA members whose consolidation payments are automatically deducted from a personal bank account will receive a .25% interest rate reduction.
