SECOND VICE PRESIDENT: Dr. Terry Buckenheimer

Dr. Buckenheimer, a general dentist, received his undergraduate degree in biology from West Virginia University and earned his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Buckenheimer is past president of the Hillsborough County Dental Association and has served the FDA as a delegate, on the Florida delegation to the American Dental Association, and on several committees and taskforces. He is a board member and past president of the Florida Dental Health Foundation (FDHF).

Dr. Buckenheimer was instrumental in establishing Save that Smile, a program to ensure the use of mouthguards at children’s sporting events. In addition, he co-authored the Foundation’s award-winning Mouthwise education curriculum for Florida elementary and middle schools. Dr. Buckenheimer has been honored for his work, being named the FDA’s Dentist of the Year in 2007.
